Voluminous Hairstyles You Need to Try for Date Night This Valentine’s Day

Going on a date can sometimes be more stressful than sexy. Once the whole “but what do I wear?!” fiasco is over, next comes, you guessed it, “but how should I style my hair?!” and no one on the group chat can do anything for the next hour – you know the drill.

We’re here to put the fun back in dating with easy, yet voluminous date night hairstyles that you can totally pull off whether you’re a beauty brainiac or just picking up a volume spray for the first time. So, grab your Curls N’ Clouds Volume Spray and let’s spritz our way to a date night look that slays.

  1. Sleek Low Puff

If you just know you’re already going to be running late and short on time (guilty!), this is one of our favourite easy date night hairstyles. With all the volume and none of the fuss, it was basically made for you.

The Low Puff is a date night updo suitable for anything you have planned from a sophisticated dinner to dancing into the early hours of the morning. And if you’re lucky enough to be dating a romantic who wants to surprise you on the night, it’s a safe (and beautiful) bet.

How To:

Step 1 - Section off the top half of your hair with a claw clip and apply Curls N’ Clouds Volume Spray to the bottom section, scrunching and fluffing as usual.

Step 2 - Once you’re happy with the amount of volume, release the top section of your hair and combine it with the rest of your hair. Then, loosely hold it all where you’d like the low puff to be.

Step 3 - Next, take a hair gel and smooth down any loose hairs until it looks seriously sleek, and tie with a hairband.

  1. Half Up, Half Down

We heart this Half Up, Half Down high-volume hairstyle for when you just can’t decide between having your hair up or down. Whether you’re feeling casual with a cute top and jeans or going all out, this voluminous hairstyle instantly turns up the glitz and glamour that it almost doesn’t matter what you wear.

How To:

Step 1 – Apply Curls N’ Clouds Volume Spray to your roots, lifting sections of hair. If your hair isn’t naturally curly, make sure to curl it first.

Step 2 – Flip your head upside down (and make sure you’re not standing in front of your bathroom sink because there’s nothing less romantic than A&E on Valentine’s Day), and ruffle up with both hands.

Step 3 – Take your thumbs, placing one above each ear with your palms facing the ceiling, and glide upwards through your hair, grabbing the section you have in your hands – this is now your top section, but you can take more or let some go if you wish.

Step 4 – Gently pull out two pieces of hair, slick the rest back (with hair gel if needed) and tie with a hairband.

Step 5 – Take a small strand of hair from the bottom of the section you just tied up, wrap it around the hairband until it’s fully covered, and pin it in place with a hair grip underneath the top pony for a date night updo they’ll remember.

  1. Blunt Middle Part

Listen, you don’t have to spend hours getting ready for a date to look the part, you just need to make them think that you did – cue the Blunt Middle Part, an effortlessly chic high-volume hairstyle. If you’re a dedicated wear-your-hair-down kinda gal and a date night updo isn’t an option, it’s a no brainer.

How To:

Step 1 – Apply Curls N’ Clouds Volume Spray to your roots, or all over if you want mega volume.

Step 2 – Bend over and scrunch your hair in the places you’ve just applied the Volume Spray.

Step 3 – Take a comb and split your hair right down the middle – voila!

  1. Messy High Bun with Hair Clips

Can we just appreciate how cute this date night updo is for a sec? Simply add in a few hair clips to a classic high bun and you’re good to go. If these pretty pink flower hair clips aren’t for you (um, we need to have a chat), swap them out for glittery red hearts or silver diamante ‘love’ hair grips.

How To:

Step 1 - Apply Curls N’ Clouds Volume Spray to the roots of your hair, lifting sections of hair as you go.

Step 2 – Bend over and shake your hair with your hands.

Step 3 – Pull your hair up as if you’re going to tie a ponytail, but instead, make a bun shape and secure with a hairband.

Step 4 – To make it messy, pull some curls out.
