EXPLANATION: PQ11 is film-forming by nature, which means it will effectively coat the hair, blocking humidity, preventing frizz, and providing curl defining/retention.  Molecular formula: C42H72N6O9X2.

PURPOSE: Eliminates frizz along with conditioning the hair, promote shine, ease of combing, and improved elasticity.



EXPLANATION: this plant-based amino-acid is obtained by processing cellulose in a laboratory using specialized equipment and techniques, so it's completely vegan and safe to use if you prefer cruelty-free products. Molecular formula: C29H52O21 

PURPOSE: a non-ionic, water-soluble polymer that thickens, binds, forms a thin coating, emulsifies, stabilizes, disperses, retains water and provides a protective colloid action. It is a rheology modifier which is derived from cellulose, a chemical compound found in the cell walls of the plant. It gets dissolved in water easily and forms liquids of various viscosities.

EXPLANATION: a water soluble silicone, thus safe and CGM APPROVED. Silicones are synthetic polymers made up of repeating units of siloxane (elemental silicon and oxygen), which is why silicones may also be referred to as polysiloxanes. Often, the terms “silicone” and “silicon” are mistakenly used interchangeably, when they are actually quite different. Silicon is the 14th element on the periodic table and the second most abundant element in the earth’s crust, after oxygen. In contrast, silicones are always synthetically produced.
